Wet Weather Inspiration

There's plenty to do on a rainy day here - besides browsing Stokey's brilliant shops and enjoying the local pubs and restaurants, we have an impressive leisure centre, climbing centre, art gallery and more.

Clissold Leisure Centre

This local leisure centre has a training pool and a main pool so, whether you're looking to swim lengths or splash about with the kids, this is a good wet-weather activity. There's also a well-equipped gym and activities such as soft play for children.

Ramp - Art Gallery

This contemporary art gallery specialises in emerging and early career artists as well as showing many mid career and blue chip works. Their exhibition space is 1500 sq ft over 2 floors with a fully licensed bar and commercial kitchen for gallery events and beyond. See website for opening times.

Get your wet weather gear on!

You know the old adage - there's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing! Get your wellies on and head to Abney Park or Woodberry Wetlands and enjoy nature in the rain!

The Castle Climbing Centre

This is the South East’s premier indoor climbing centre. It’s housed within a stunning Victorian building, formerly a water pumping station and it looks just like a fairy-tale castle! There’s also a lovely café on site, overlooking the reservoir.

KindHaus

This in-demand creche has an indoor play area, craft corner and water-play. It's based in Stokey PopUp on the High Street and also has an in-house café with plenty of healthy child-friendly options and space for parents to work.

Tower Theatre

Enjoy high-quality, affordable drama at this lovely local theatre. The company presents up to 18 full-scale productions a year.
