Constellations
Throughout December and January beautiful stars are lighting Stoke Newington's main shopping streets.

Stoke Newington Business Association teamed up with local company Output Arts to run a series of workshops with traders and schoolchildren to make stunning star lanterns. They're now displayed in the windows of local businesses and homes to brighten things up this winter.

On Saturday December 3rd, accompanied by a Samba band, local children took part in a lantern procession from Stoke Newington Town Hall and hundreds of people gathered for carols outside the Fire Station, accompanied by the Vox Holloway Choir.

Shops will be opening late (until 8pm) on Saturdays throughout December (excluding Christmas Eve).
More about the project
The stars, which have been made in partnership with the wonderful Output Arts, represent the invisible lines that connect us as a community.

They're displayed in shop windows, complementing the existing light installation at the Old Church and new ones at the Fire Station on Church St and St Paul's Church on the High St.

Constellations has been made possible thanks to funding from Hackney Council's High Street Recovery Grant.

Our thanks go to Location Location for producing the video.
